Why sponsor a new disciple?
It is important to sponsor a new disciple so they are supported by prayer, get off to good start and become active in a Fourth Day / Accountability Group after the Walk.
If you would like to be called upon to sponsor someone who signs up
without a sponsor, simply fill out the form above and send it in.
Here is the list of responsibilities for sponsoring a new disciple:
- Assist the disciple with transportation arrangements to the drop off point on Thursday and help them get back home again on Sunday.
- Financial sponsorship is not a
requirement, but if you have chosen to sponsor a disciple financially, please send your check to the registrar.
- Please keep in touch with the disciple regarding the upcoming weekend. If for any reason he/she will be unable to attend the weekend, please notify the registrar ASAP so that we may fill the vacancy from our waiting list. There are no refunds or transfers after 7 days prior to the weekend because we must confirm our count and pay the conference center at that point.
- We are asking that you encourage personal agape for your disciple from those who have previously attended a Walk or a similar weekend (Walk to Emmaus, Cursillo, Great Banquet, Tres
Dias, etc.)
- Please send personal agape to your disciple and try to send general agape for each new disciple. You may also send agape for the team.
- After the weekend, encourage your disciple
to get involved with a Discipleship Partner or Accountability Group. Also encourage him/her to attend a Gathering.
This is most important … without your help in this area, the weekend may become just a pleasant memory. Follow-up is
the key to assisting disciples to continue to grow in their walk with
the Lord.
- Prayer support for your disciple before, during, and after the Walk is imperative!
